CURRENT NEWS

REST IN PEACE,

RODNEY COOPER

Our golfing community is one that is tightly knit, with players forming strong bonds over their shared love for the game. When a member of our community passes away, it is not just a loss for his family and friends, but for all those who knew him on the course. The death of a golfer is a somber occasion, as it serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the fleeting nature of our time on this earth.

As we pay our respects to Rodney Cooper who has passed away, we are filled with a sense of sadness and loss. We remember the times we spent on the course together, the friendly competition, and the camaraderie that comes with playing the game we all love. We recall the moments of triumph and defeat, the highs and lows that come with the sport of golf, and the challenges of creating a successful golfing organization. And we mourn the loss of a fellow player, a friend, a companion on the fairways.

Rodney's passing leaves behind a legacy that extends far beyond his scorecard. He leaves behind memories of his passion for the game, his dedication to improving his skills, and his love for the camaraderie that comes with being a Founder, and a major part of RIGC. He leaves behind a hole that cannot be filled, a void that cannot be replaced.

To Rodney's family and loved ones, we offer our deepest condolences and our unwavering support during this difficult time. We share in your grief and stand with you as you navigate this heartbreaking loss. Please know that Rodney will always have a special place in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come.

As we say our final goodbyes to our fallen comrade, we reflect on the impact he had on our lives and the lives of those around them. We remember his belly laughter, his pride for his club, and his love for the game. We honor his memory by continuing to play the game he loved, by striving to improve our skills, and by cherishing the time we have on the course with our fellow golfers.

Rodney will be deeply missed by all of us at the club. His absence on the course will be felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will live on in the stories we share and the rounds of golf we play in his honor. We will never forget the joy and laughter he brought to our club, and we will always cherish the memories we shared with him both on and off the course.

Joe Weaver's Second Hole-in-One

Joe Weaver, playing Sanctuary Lake with Ron Sdao and George Karam scored a hole in one on #7 Par 3, 110 yards using a PW. It was down hill so he was able to watch it all the way…hit the green and rolled into the hole!  This is his second one…his first was in April of last year at a links of Crystal Lake.
